(힘쎈여자 도봉순) 2017 JTBC

Bong-Soon (Park Bo-Young) was born into a family where the women possess supernatural strength. If they misuse their power, it gets taken away from them. Bong Soon uses her powers sparingly, and keeps them a secret. Her real desire is to create a video game about a character like herself. Fortunately, Min-Hyuk (Park Hyung-Sik), CEO of a game development company, accidentally witnesses her beating up some thugs, and hires her to be his bodyguard.

Along with the romantic subplot, there is also a psychotic serial kidnapper stealing women off the streets of Bong Soon's neighborhood, and she helps her police detective friend Kook-Du (Ji Soo) hunt the culprit.

Running commentary

A cute mystery romance with the always-adorable Park Bo-Young. The series starts off strong (pun intended!) and introduces the main characters. The Bad Guys (redevelopment thugs) who spend most of their time in the hospital, The High School bullies (who are great as Bong Soon's disciples), and the psycho who keeps kidnapping women from the neighborhood.

The CEO-intern relationship between the two leads is good, but the romantic chemistry is almost non-existent. If I were Min Hyuk, I would not feel comfortable about Boon Soon's feelings for me.

The last half of the series tends to drag. The police, including third love interest Gook-Du, are incompetent at catching the kidnapper. and the fledgling romance with Min Hyuk has no real depth.

Kim Won-Hae absolutely steals the show with a double turn as one of the Bad Guys who loses most of his teeth to Bong Soon, and Team Leader Oh, a flamboyantly gay Ainsoft employee who shrieks in terror every time he runs into Bong Soon, as he's convinced she must be an alien.
